99 Seasons of Sac City Men's Basketball: Volume Two (1969 to 1999)

Volume Two (1969-1999) follows the Sacramento City College men's basketball program from the era of dominant rebounders and double-double machines in the 1970s, through the “defense-first” teams of the 1980s, into the three-point era. All but one of the 30 seasons covered herein include rosters, game summaries, statistics (game, season, and career), school records, conference standings, individual honors, season notes, photographs, and alumni updates. You’ll find information about the 1980 team that brought home the program’s first conference championship in 34 years, four other league championship teams from the 1980s and 1990s, and the state champs of 1986. This volume includes SCC's first known triple-double, nine all-state players, the program's first known high-volume dunker and shot blocker (two different players), and the intensity of the Sac City – American River College rivalry. The Panthers competed in the Valley, Camino Norte, and Bay Valley East conferences during this period, and regularly participated in the postseason tournament play, which expanded to 64 teams in the late 1980s.
